Lemonade + Leadership

June 17, 2013

The theme of the week last week at Holy Cross Summer Camp was Leadership, and one way the kids learned some leadership skills was by putting together a lemonade stand to raise money for charity. The group chose the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) as their chosen charity, and set a goal of $275 to raise.

The lemonade stand was a popular place in the heat on Wednesday, and they surpassed the goal and raised $281.50!
Way to go!!

Fun with Water Play!

July 17, 2012

Holy Cross summer campers are making the best of it in this hot weather!  Last week, they rented Pitch Burst, which is a water balloon popping carnival game.  The kids all got a turn to try and hit the target to make the water balloon pop over Mrs. Bridge’s head. They had a blast, and she got soaked!

Here’s a look at some of the water fun…

Hot Enough To Fry An Egg?

June 28, 2012

The Holy Cross Summer Camp preschoolers decided to try a little test today.

Is it hot enough today to fry egg on the parking lot ground?

In the end, the yokes got hard, but the egg whites slowly shrunk away.
So….. not exactly. But, pretty darn close!
