Help Plan Family Fun!

October 6, 2013

from Christy Kincaid and Kelsey Corbin, Book Fair Coordinators –

SAVE THE DATE: Holy Cross Book Fair —> Monday Nov 4 – Friday Nov 8.

Stop by the book fair at the school any day that week after school 3:15 – 4:30, or Monday – Wednesday evening 6 – 8:00 p.m.

We need volunteers!  There will be opportunities for parents and junior high students to help out in many capacities. More on that in the next few weeks.

Our immediate need is for help in planning Family Night on Wednesday, Nov. 6. If you are willing to help create a Holy Cross evening of Ancient Egyptian family fun, contact Kelsey Corbin (she’s in the school directory).

Library Volunteers ROCK.

August 20, 2013

booksfrom Holy Cross librarian and now 6th-grade teacher, Mrs. Anne Anderson –

A big thank you to Christy Kincaid and her daughter, Kelsey Corbin (a kinder mom this year) – for stepping up and volunteering to be our Holy Cross Book Fair Co-Chairs!

Christy and Kelsey will be looking for helpers to volunteer in a number of roles for the November event, so please contact them or Mrs. Anderson if you’d like to help.

Thanks also to Holy Cross moms Kim Cashman and Amy Briscoe, who have volunteered to coordinate the Birthday Books program for the library this year. Also known as The Giving Tree program, donating a book to the school library on the child’s birthday is a fun Holy Cross tradition, and is a major source of new books for the library. You may purchase and donate a book from a ‘wish list’ collection of books held by the Library, or you may donate a book you purchase at a bookstore. Give Kim or Amy a call if you have any questions about the program.

Help Make The Book Fair Happen!

August 16, 2013

BookFairThe Holy Cross Scholastic Book Fair is scheduled for November 4 – 8, 2014.
BUT… without some willing volunteers to organize the event, it may not happen this year.

For the past 12 years, Anne Anderson, as school librarian, has coordinated the Book Fair. She is teaching 6th grade this year, and her time in the library will be reduced. Jr. high language arts teacher Dan Fournier will be checking books in every morning, and Mrs. Anderson will only have 30 minutes each day to teach K-1 & 3-4 with combined classes.

She’ll need Book Fair co-chairs to take over in order for the book fair event to become a reality this year.

She says that it’s a great opportunity for a couple of parents to work together to plan the Book Fair. She can help guide you through what needs to be done. And there are many volunteer helpers who come forward to help. Lot of Indians….  we just need 2 Chiefs!

Please contact her at aanderson@holycrosscatholicschool.com if you’re interested. Find a friend and let Mrs. Anderson know you’ll co-chair together, or write to her and she can pair you up with another interested parent.
