Starting with a Prayer

August 14, 2013

from Holy Cross principal, Mrs. Carney –

The teachers and staff had a wonderful start to the new school year.   The day started with a prayer service.  Teachers and staff prayed for each student by name, and then lit a candle on their behalf.  It was a blessed day.

Holy Cross was in the local media spotlight on Friday as we celebrated the Wichita State Shockers Final Four appearance. (click here to read more about Friday’s pep rally and what started this Shocker Fever.)

Shocker Fever

April 5, 2013

wsuHoly Cross is abuzz with Shocker Fever today!

It’s Black and Gold Day, and we celebrated WSU going to the Final Four with a pep rally in the gym. We even had some visitors from local news stations there to take video!

Did you know our principal, Mrs. Carney, our music director, Mrs. Cain, and our junior high language arts teacher, Mr. Fournier, are all Shocker grads? In fact, Mrs. Carney played women’s basketball there 1982-86. She’s the all-time leading scorer at WSU, a record that still stands, and she’s in the Wichita State Hall of Fame!

Making Scarecrows

November 8, 2012

from 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. O’Brien –

It was a crazy race to see could make the fastest scarecrow of some Holy Cross staffers.

Mr. Long, Mrs. Obershaw, Mrs. O’Brien and Dr. Beverlin were the ‘victims’ as Holy Cross 3rd graders dressed them up as scarecrows at the Halloween class party last week. Everyone had a fun time, and the kids did a great job of working together and creating their scarecrows!

Thanks to Mrs. Cunningham for organizing the activity.

Come Meet The New Principal!

June 22, 2011

Holy CrossI hope everyone’s summer has been restful and relaxing so far.  We are beginning to see signs of construction on the inside of the building, and you should all start seeing signs outside soon.

This Sunday, June 26, after the 9 and 11 a.m. Masses at Holy Cross Church, we will have a Coffee and Donut reception in Lickteig Hall for our new principal, Mrs. Bobbie Beverlin.

She will be introducing herself at each of those Masses and will join everyone downstairs afterwards.  We invite you all to come and give her a Holy Cross welcome!
