A Note from the Principal

March 4, 2014

from Holy Cross principal, Mrs. Carney –

notesMany people have asked about making up snow days.  As of today, we do not need to make up any days.  If we have additional snow days, I will have to be creative with our calendar in order to provide the required amount of instructional time.  I will update you if this occurs.

Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday.  Students will leading the All School Mass at 9:00.  We plan on driving to Mass because of the snow/ice still on the sidewalks.  If you can help with driving, please be in the back parking lot at 8:30 a.m.

The 3rd quarter ends March 7.  Report cards will come home on Monday, March 24.

CYO track sign up is on Thursday, March 6 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in Mrs. Schnell’s 8th grade room.  Please see the newsletter for more information.

Reminder – please be sure your child arrives to school on time. Tardiness negatively impacts your child’s education.

Have a wonderful Fat Tuesday!

8th Grade Gifts Enhance Liturgy & Prayer

June 24, 2013

from Holy Cross mom, Mrs. Haeusser –

The class of 2013 decided to gift the school with various items to enhance our liturgy and prayer at Holy Cross.  We purchased a beautiful Our Lady Of Guadalupe statue which was placed in the school hallway near the art room in January.  Mrs. Carney gathered students there before school on Monday mornings this year to pray the rosary.  Students can also use the kneelers in front of Mary for a quick prayer throughout the day.  In addition, the Eighth Grade class purchased a set of church bells and a San Damiano Crucifix to be used in Pflumn Hall next year.  You may have seen it when Father blessed it before our Graduation Mass.  And finally, Alicia Cordova’s mother made a new set of beautiful altar linens to be used for weekly Masses next year.  Thanks Class of 2013!

Reminders for Wednesday

December 7, 2010

Holy CrossPlease remember that we have an All School Mass tomorrow (Wednesday) for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.  The weather forecast is predicting a low of 19 tonight.  This means that tomorrow morning promises to be quite cold.

We plan to have a bus shuttle K – 3rd graders to church and back.

We will need parent drivers to help us with 4th – 8th grade.  If you are able to help with that, please be in the playground parking lot (Trees) lot between 8:25 and 8:30 a.m.

Even though we are planning to give the children rides to church and back,
it is still important for them to come dressed for the weather.
They often have to stand outside waiting to load onto the bus or into a car.  Also, depending on the temperature after mass, we may have the older children walk back to school.

Thanks for you help.

Another reminder for Wednesday, remember it is the final full day to drop off any gifts for our adopted Christmas families at St. Benedict’s.  The boxes will be delivered on Thursday.
