November 1, 2012

from Holy Cross teacher and Vocation Club coordinator, Mrs. Carney –

Twenty-three sixth, seventh, and eighth graders traveled to Conception Abbey on October 29th to learn about vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Brother Etienne, a Benedictine monk, lead the tour of the Abbey and seminary.

Three seminarians, recent graduates of St. James Academy, visited with our young men and shared their vocation stories.  The young ladies visited the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration.  They visited the beautiful chapel, learned about the many relics, and visited with Sister Ruth Elaine.

All students went to Mass at the Basilica with the monks and seminarians, followed by lunch in their private dining room.
