A 3rd-grade project update from teacher JoAnn O’Brien –

The third graders at Holy Cross learned about the desert habitat and created desert animals of their own.  They used adaptations from different desert animals to make their creations.  For example, they may have used the ears of the kit fox, the eyes of the lizard, the beak of the elf owl to create a desert animal called Foxlizowl.  They wrote a paper that told how their desert animal would survive in the desert.

The students will be making wheat bread in the classroom soon.  And in Science, they have been learning about where our food come from and how important it is to survive.

And, the sixth-graders have been busy, as well. In science, they recently dissected chicken wings…
