Summer is quickly approaching.

Field Trip to the Sports Lab

The Holy Cross Summer Camp took a trip to the KC Sports Lab at Arrowhead Stadium this week.  As you can see in the slideshow pictures, the kids enjoyed the interactive displays inside the helmet, staff members had fun in front of the camera and the green screen, and it was just an enjoyable, educational day!

Summer Camp Enjoys Wiz

The summer campers at Holy Cross enjoyed a field trip to Crown Center to see the Wiz recently. Mrs. Bridges sent a picture of a group of our 5-year-old theatre-goers!

Lemonade for Joplin

The summer program kids had a Kool-Aid stand in the preschool parking lot today. All proceeds will go to St. Mary’s Catholic Church and School in Joplin, MO.

They charged 25 cents per cup and accepted donations.  They had a lot of visitors stop by to cool down from the summer heat and help a great cause. Thanks to all of you who stopped by!

Holy Cross Summer Camp is an option weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for students ages 3 through 12!

• Socialization and Friends

• Fun Activities
  • Swimming – 3 days per week (ages 5 – 12)
  • Field Trips – once each week (ages 5 – 12)
  • In-Camp Adventures – once each week (all ages)

• New, more flexible child care options
  • 1-day to 5-day care available

• Developmentally Appropriate groups

Summer Camp Pancake Breakfast

Today is the last day of Summer Camp for our 6 – 12 year olds, and the  staff has planned some special activities.

Parents were invited to stay and join the kids for a pancake breakfast this morning.

This afternoon some of the campers who are Holy Cross Band members will be performing a concert for the EEC campers.

Archeological Dig @ Holy Cross

The Holy Cross summer camp children did an archeological dig on Wednesday behind the school.  They found all sorts of interesting objects.  They created a “museum display” and each archeologist wrote a short report on the items they found.

On Thursday, they went going to the Steamboat Arabia Museum in the River Market.  They learned how that dig was conducted, what was found and how the items were cleaned and preserved.
