Holy Cross ‘Bling’ Shirts

February 7, 2011

Have you seen the Holy Cross ‘bling’ shirts that were for sale at Celebration?  We’ve had many requests to extend the order period, so here’s your chance to get your very own shirt!

We’ll have pictures of the shirts on our Holy Cross Facebook page, and you can download the order form here.

There are two designs (see right) and various color shirts.
(Either design on a navy shirt is approved for student use on Spirit Days at Holy Cross School, by the way.)

The last day to order is Feb. 18, so get those orders in to the school office soon.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact Wendy Regehr.

PTO Moms Night Out (and more)

September 20, 2010

Hope you all had a great weekend.

  • Our Holy Cross moms are invited to a get-together at Longbranch (91st & Metcalf) on Wednesday.at 7 p.m. Come and enjoy the company of other Holy Cross mothers, as well as complimentary appetizers and a drink of your choice!
  • Our parents’ rosary this morning focused on the 6th grade. Our chapel makes a beautiful setting for it.
  • This week our students in grades 3 through 8 are taking the Iowa Basics (ITBS) test. Make sure to see that they get plenty of sleep and a good breakfast.
  • Mid-Quarter grades will go home with students on Wednesday. Time is flying this semester!
  • Our Trash Bag Coordinators are still looking for a few adult volunteers to help with the trash bag pick-up on Friday and Saturday this week in the church parking lot. Could you help with a 2-hour (or more!) shift sometime 2 to 6:30 p.m. Friday or 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday?  If so, please contact LeAnn Barry. Thanks!
  • Last, but not least, we’ll have our first Spirit Day Friday of the year this week. Students can wear any Holy Cross shirt or sweatshirt (maybe still a little hot for that this week!) of any color with their school uniform pants, shorts, skirt or jumper.

Have a wonderful week!

This and That

January 21, 2010

I’ve just got a bunch of little notes to share today…

Join me in Pflumm Hall tonight at 7:00 for our Holy Cross Parent Information Night. I look forward to seeing you there.

It’s Spirit Day at Holy Cross on Friday. Remember, your students can show their school spirit by wearing any Holy Cross shirts and sweatshirts.

Remember, there is no school next Friday (1/29). Crews will be busy setting up for Celebration.  And, definitely plan on joining us for the Celebration dinner and auction on Saturday!

Catholic Schools Week begins the next day, Sunday, January 31.

Student Appreciation Day is coming up – Wed, February 3

Mark your calendar for Saturday, Feb. 13 – Holy Cross Trivia Night 2010!
Put together a team of 8-10 adults, or come alone and they’ll match you up with a team. It’s always a really fun evening, and proceeds go to the 8th-grade graduation fund.  Everyone registered by Feb. 6 will be entered into a special drawing, so sign up today. Contact Jo Ann O’Brien for more info – jobrien@holycrosscatholicschool.com.

Wow! A busy time at Holy Cross. And what fun!!!

Fa la la la la!

December 11, 2009

Impressive! That’s what the Christmas program was last night.  The Holy Cross 5th and 6th-graders, band, choir and bells put on quite a show.

I look forward to the preschool Christmas program this Sunday and the K-4 program on Tuesday.

I love the holidays, don’t you? Watching the kids celebrate the season really makes it come alive. Fa la la la la!

~~~
Spirit Days are fun at Holy Cross.
The kids get to break out of the normal uniform and show their school spirit. It’s fun to see all of the school T-shirts and sweatshirts come out that have been passed down through families over the years.
Go Hornets!
Our Holy Cross Marketing Director, Mikki Lawrence, will be holding a second Coffee Talk next Monday (Dec. 14). She looks forward to meeting with Holy Cross parents at 7 p.m. at Dunn Bros. Coffee (8975 Metcalf).  We appreciate the feedback we received at the first Coffee Talk. Contact Mikki at mlawrence@holycrosscatholicschool.com for more info.
